Canon Responds on DR
Interesting new article over at Cinema5d this morning. Canon sent Larry Thorpe to explain their method of evaluating DR (although C5D still manages to conclude that their method -- choosing a low noise threshold for their testing device -- is more objective :-).
https://www.cinema5d.com/canon-measu...-c300-mark-ii/ A good takeaway is Thorpe's recommendation for "lower noise" is to shoot Cinema Log at ISO 400 with NR set at 2. Will have to try it. Finally started shooting some CLog2 in earnest this week, using the Arri LogC LUT included in FCP. Generally liking the results. Well lit skin tones have a depth and accuracy I've not seen with the C300. |
