Good match for C100
Hi everyone
I am looking at purchasing a C100 for weddings and events and in an ideal world will get a second fairly quickly after. In the meantime I am wondering what a good match for a secondary shot/camera would be? I have read that the 70D is almost like C100's little brother so wondered if that might be a good fit? I won't need to worry about audio as much on the second camera. Thanks in advance! Diana |

Re: Good match for C100
well, ideally a second C100! but that's too much money...
so, a 70D may be ok with some tweaks. I have a C100 MKii and a 70D and I will use them for interviews. The C100 as the main camera MCU or CU using the wideDR pic setting and the 70D in neutral. read this article from Erik Naso. He has done it- He knows what's he's talking about! By the way I use the C100 mostly with a 18-135mm STM lens and the Canon 70D with a Sigma 18-35 f.1.8 or a 50mm f1.8STM lens and the results are really good. Expensive investment but great results. I don't need 4K for a while. Good luck! Matching The Canon 70D To The C100. Can It Be Done? |

Re: Good match for C100
A second vote for the Sony RX10 mk2!!
Otherwise, just pick up a Samsung NX1 with Nikon primes instead. (Or a GH4) Samsung NX1 vs Canon C300 (image quality) - EOSHD |

Re: Good match for C100
Thanks so much for your suggestion!
I don't know much about the Sony RX10 II, can I ask why you think/know it would be a good match for C100? |

The rx10 can shoot s-log2 which might make it easier to match up with the c100 colours + resolutionwise it will also be a good match and you will find it operates almost as easy as a videocamera yet it produces a more dslr kind of look with some decent shallow dof if you zoom in more. Low light is not on the same level and it will struglle at candle light dinners, so if that is a requirement then you are better of with another camera. |
