Promotion on the Canon C300 and C500
Has anyone else seen this: Cinema Camera Deals, Promotions & Packages | Canon Cinema EOS
Looks like Canon is lowering the price on their popular C300, maybe to meet the competition. B&H has lowered the price it seems. Maybe now is the time to buy or are they releasing something new? |

Promotions are normal and common ways all the manufacturers use to boost sales. They are not only used when a model is going to be replaced. When the Cinema cameras were announced it was a big deal and they were brand new. Canon had a big event to announce it with a long drumroll to create excitement. These days, announcing upgrades to an existing models is usually aligned with a trade show. It depends how big of a deal it is. Bottom line is that people who know cannot say.

You know, it's not out of the question that a C300 update is on the horizon. Still, like all Canon things, no breath should be held.
