C100 Z-finder elastic bands
I use the C100 Z-finder and basically like it. Zacuto did a good job of coping with the placement of the C100 LCD screen. I encountered a problem last week with the elastic bands coming loose. As a result, I devised a way to more securely attach them. Their design crimps them into a lug that is attached to the camera. The problem is that when the elastic bands are stretched, their diameter decreases and they can slip out of the crimp fit in the attachment lug.
I devised a way to make the elastic bands attach more securely by prying open the crimp lug and apppying some epoxy glue around the bands where they fit into the lug and recrimping the lug with the bands in place. I assured there was a small bead of epoxy on the end of the crimp lug to prevent the elastic bands from slipping out. This works well and provides a more secure attachment of the bands. If you do this, be sure to use epoxy glue. Most glue has a solvent that can weaken the rubber elastic bands. |
