Adobe will fix AVCHD bug in Premiere Pro CS6
There is a well documented bug with editing long AVCHD clips in Premiere Pro. One of the affected camera is the C100. Adobe acknowledged the existence the bug some time ago and recommended transcoding files as a work around, Audio and Video glitches | AVCHD footage.
Yesterday they final announced that they are committed to fixing the bug. Great news for C100 owners who want to edit the native footage! From the Abobe blog, Premiere Pro work area | Adobe weblog about Premiere Pro and related stuff from the Premiere Pro team "Our commitment to customers includes those who haven’t yet subscribed to Creative Cloud or who rely on CS6, and we plan to release an update to Premiere Pro CS6 in the coming weeks that will address an AVCHD clip spanning issue. I've been waiting for this for a while as it's been a headache with any long C100 interview clips.
Thanks for the info! Good to see they are honouring that pledge.

All good, but they also need to fix the ongoing problem of the preview clips in the media browser from refreshing before you get to the bottom (or even middle) of the group of preview clips.
I am growing weary of Adobe not fixing some pretty basic problems. Their software can be pretty good, and very stable, but it's not without issues. For the price, they ought to be fixing these, given that it's been months, if not going on over a year. |

Re: Adobe will fix AVCHD bug in Premiere Pro CS6
I agree. I recently moved up to CS6 from 5.5.2 and the thumbnail refresh bug in CS6 is a bad flaw that should be fixed - it all worked fine in 5.5.2!
And by "fixing" that does not just mean by upgrading to the recently announced CC (as that has a few new bugs of it's own...). I still paid good money (and very recently) for what I have now Mr Adobe - so get it sorted please.

It's noteworthy and commendable that Adobe participates in forums. We appreciate the information. Many of us are running businesses that depend on solid products including NLEs. It helps a great deal to know the current status of product issues.
