Monitor Lock screw stuck, Can't remove from Handle

Hey Guys,

Anybody ever have their monitor lock screw turned too tight, and now they can't get it off the handle? Mine is currently stuck to the handle, and I can't seem to turn the lock screw at all, doesn't budge. Any idea on how to get the monitor off? Thanks guys.

Glen

It happens to me on a regularly basis even though I'm careful not to tighten it too much.

Have now invested in a big pair of pliers so I can very carefully loosen it.

But would welcome a better approach.

I used a pair of plyers with a rubber piece wrapped around it, still couldn't get it off. Even bent some of the plastic already.

In this order...Tapping, Lubricant spray, heat (with a torch). Heat almost always works, but it's the most dangerous. Get professional help, if possible.

Re: Monitor Lock screw stuck, Can't remove from Handle

I had the C300 LCD monitor stuck after a very long bumpy ride. I had to go back to the room in the night and use a rough cloth for grip and then remove the monitor after a bit of struggle. At times when I don't tighten the monitor it comes off the handle. I thought I was pretty abusive with my equipment and pushing it to the limits and such stuff is kind of acceptable. So I am surprised to hear that others have had such an experience.

This all sounds like the start of a great script to a short move.
