SD cards for C100 in UK?
Can anyone recommend a supplier of cards SD cards suitable for a C100 in the UK for next day delivery?
128 gb seems to be the appropriate size but I am not certain about this. I am new to SD cards and am a bit shocked at how much they cost and how long it takes to get them delivered!

Whoops.
I said I didn't know much about SD cards. I got my MBs and my GBs mixed up. The C100 won't record to 64 MB or smaller. Not 64 GB or smaller as I read it. BTW For anyone reading this who knows as little about SD cards as I do there are 128 GB SD cards available at between £120 and £300. Mostly at one week delivery. They must record for days. Apologies for any confusion.

Re: SD cards for C100 in UK?
Hi Richard,
You might consider using 16 GB or 32 GB cards rather than the huge 128GB you are thinking of buying. At full HD on the C300 that would give you 80 minutes x 2 which I have found more than sufficient for a days shooting unless one is recording a conference or event. The C100 manual say you should 85 minutes at 24Mbs onto a 16GB card and 175min at the same spec on a 32GB card. The larger capacity cards are more expensive and if anything were to go wrong that's a huge amount of data at risk. |

Thanks Mark
I couldn't agree more. I always used 16 GB cards on my 5D for that reason. Also because the batteries lasted about the same time. I think that this morning I either needed a new brain or new eyes and just didn't read the manual properly ;-)

Re: SD cards for C100 in UK?
When \ if I finally get a C100 I shall be opting for two 128GB cards recording simultaneosly. I can shoot anything up to 6 hours at one event sometimes.
Two 128GB cards will allow me to shoot without changing cards which means there is less risk of losing or damaging them. If one card goes down then you still have the other backup. |
