Encouraging news from Sony on Blue Ray
Article over at Ars technica announcing Sony will not downsample video for analog playback.

I've also read that the initial batch of HD-DVD's from Warner do not have the Image Constraint Token activated, so people with component inputs only HD sets will be okay[but for how long?]
Good move on Sony's part [which affects only their titles, I believe]--it's up to each studio to decide whether to "check that box" in their authoring/mastering program. I'm happy to hear it, since I'm a component only set owner. |
