BluRay BD-5 on DVD media... is it OK ?
I have a small menu based BluRay project (4 gig) that needs to be duplicated in about 100 discs... Has anybody have experience burning BluRay as BD-5 on DVD media that plays without problems on set top BR players ??
... I've read that for the best compatibility I need to patch my index.bmdv file with AVCHD patcher and just burn the BR files to DVD media with imgBurn .... I'm going to make some tests but any comment would be greatly appreciated.... Regards

Re: BluRay BD-5 on DVD media... is it OK ?
All I know is that the UDF formatting of BDs can be burned to DVD-R no problem in Sony DVD Architect 5.2+ and Sony Vegas 9.0+.
Any DVD with the BD UDF file format will be read by most players as AVCHD. It is a good idea to patch your index.bdmv to AVCHD. Burn a test disc and test it on as many players as you can. The PS3 will not read BD-5s, so patching to AVCHD may (but not guaranteed) trigger it to read it as an AVCHD disc. |
