bd-r playback
It's been awhile since I have considered investing in BluRay burner for distribution to clients. Can anyone tell me if most blu ray players today can playback BD-R discs?

Eric -
BD-R is ALL I've been supplying customers for some time! New (and even some VERY old UPDATED software) players seldom have a problem - and my customers strongly prefer BD over lower resolution and lower quality DVD. Now, for the issues. First, I use only Verbatim BD-R discs, in view of their apparent quality. Second, BD-Rs often take a LONG time to load, even with simple menus or even just one segment productions - of course not as long as some Hollywood productions with the huge, nonsensical menus! Third, I always include an insert with BD-Rs about Don't Touch - in comparison with pressed BDs, it doesn't take much of a smudge to disable the disc. Finally, as you'd guess, the discs either play or they don't at all - but as I said, most do, and players of recent vintage play them. |
