HDS2 only for apple?
Hi there friend of cinema...
In the long wait for the BMCC I've been looking at the HDS2 for a positive quality upgrade when the update for my 5D3 is released. But what I've been reading the BMCC is a "Apple only" product (hopefully BMD will understand that some people is using PC too) and is "based" on the HDS(2), my questions is... Is the HDS2 also an "Apple only" product, can you format the SSD's on a PC? Cheers Markus |

Re: HDS2 only for apple?
The Hyperdeck Shuttle 2 works equally well using Windows. I would suggest using the exFAT file format which works on both Windows and OS X, so files are easily interchanged between between both environments.

Re: HDS2 only for apple?
If you don't want to use EXFAT for any reason, MacDrive is a $50USD solution that allows reading, writing and formatting of HFS drives on Windows, which is what I use when using my laptop to back up SSDs from my HDSs as the laptop has USB3 and my iMac only has USB2/FW800 and I haven't found a ThunderBolt docking cradle yet...
