Our journey with the BMPCC 4K
Hi everyone,
a LOT has happened these last 4 months we've had our BMPCC 4K. It has been a journey that we have decided to share on this blog post. I'd love it if you guys have a read! https://www.vivalazoom.co.uk/blackma...era-4k-review/ thanks in advance, |

Re: Our journey with the BMPCC 4K
Many thanks Guillermo.
Very helpful. I have one on order and your review confirms everything I have discovered about the camera. Such a shame about the problem with the battery compartment. I went to a demo of the camera a couple of weeks ago and the battery got stuck in the camera during the demo. I really hope that Blackmagic can fix the issues with the battery. Part of the attraction of the camera is the small form factor. It reminds me of when the 5D first came on the market. The external battery fixes the battery life problem but it turns a lightweight camera into a bit of a brick. BTW I still use a c100 as my A camera :-) I'm thinking of this as a B camera to run at 4k for interviews, which I can crop during editing as required.

Re: Our journey with the BMPCC 4K
I removed some label in the battery compartment on the advice of someone and never had a battery stuck problem since. I think the overheating of the battery reacted to the label and the glue holding it. Once the label and any glue residue was gone, battery slid out like a shot.

That's good news Steve.
Particularly now that the latest firmware update seems to have extended the life of the batteries considerably. It's a camera to get excited about :-)

Re: Our journey with the BMPCC 4K
I have a GoPro that had a problem with sticking batteries. I fixed it by applying a small amount of silcone lube to the battery compartment using a q-tip. Been fine ever since.
