Hello there,
the links to the images above are the taken from first footage from BMPCC4K.
The images are taken from ProRes codec, but I'm not sure at 100%.

Very interesting Brian, it seems that the camera has very good quality, what do you think about it?

Re: Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K - First Pictures

I have owned the original pocket cam for 2 year and sold it a few weeks back, I just didn't enjoy shooting with it. That camera was a real ergonomical nightmare and that is something they have improved upon wih this new version but there are still a few weird design choices.

I think they where having a laugh when they decided to keep the name "pocket" camera, really? It's bigger then the GH5! and has a fixed screen, which was something I hated on the first version, so you need to add a external screen to make it somewhat usefull which makes it even bigger. Bloggers will be happy with this set up as BM also seem to target them by adding a record button on the front and a red record light indicator.

I"m sure they will sell a boatload of these for those who are willing to wait months untill all backorders clear and then we can wait for badly graded backyard and cat films to appear.

Who knows, I might get one next year as well.

I liked the picture quality but this was an engineering pre-production model there was no raw selection available on the menu. I am sure quality will improve on the production model. I love the 5" screen but wish they would have made it in a fold and rotate form factor. The camera also has dual ISO low light should be on par with the GH5s.

im new to the BM line I have the Sony a6300 among other cameras. I like the look of this one because it looks like a mirror less camera without all the still stuff getting in the way:) just the stuff video guys need. Ill give it a look.

Re: Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K - First Pictures

in your video,

are you going through different file settings on the camera or is the camera automatically changing exposure for some reason?

It appears there is plenty of light in the image but, (and it could be my display) i see too much grainy-ness for a 4k cam imo
