Entering the BM biosphere.
I am highly likely to be supplementing my SI2K usage with a pre-owned big URSA or it may end up being the other way around.
Would appreciate if anyone can advise what is the last relevant system update from BM for the URSA V1. In event of CF media becoming full, can the vision be passed via the SDI port to a BM HD Shuttle recorder for backup recording or does the whole thing just stop. I understand that there must be CF media in a port with the camera in active recording before a separate recorder will receive vision but I may be wrong. Any advice and lookouts will be much appreciated. |

Interesting. No responses here or two other discussion sites. I wonder if that speaks for buyer's remorse discussion holdback or folk wanting to keep their secret sauces in using the BMC's to themselves.

not sure, or honestly more likely I think more Blackmagic users are on the blakmagic.com forum.. Maybe try there if you haven't yet?

Re: Entering the BM biosphere.
I have enrolled on the Blackmagic forum also the BMC one and will have to be unlazy and do the reading back through the threads. I eventually took the gamble and bought one which was on offer at a very good price. It is the big URSA and apparently officially end-of-life.
