No, the RAW function wasn't enabled, just ProRes.

I def want to stop by and test one out! Too bad that box says RAW, but it doesn't come with RAW. That's like saying yes, your new car is on the lot and it runs/gos but we weren't able to put the body on yet. We'll update you in the future when we have your fenders ready.
Thanks for posting anyhow Texas Media Systems.

Considering that most people will shoot raw with it one time, so what kind of a PITA it is to deal with in post, and proceed to deal with ProRes from there on out, I hardly think that's an apt comparison.

Lol, didn't see that at first, they probably thought to better send one unfinished camera out to a dealer so everyone can stare at it in the store while in the meantime they can get their act together. I mean seriously, what are they doing? It's not that it's the first time they sell a new product,

Black Magic has been up front about raw support in a firmware update.

They where also up front about their delivery schedule, not sure if 1 camera counts as delivered to store :) Ah well, all joking aside, will be looking forward to the first user videos to appear, will be interesting to see if it was worth the wait.

I have one on order regardless of RAW, but I wonder how long until that firmware actually shows up.

I'm holding out for one with an EF mount. Still, looks pretty nice.

Just be sure to have your fastest of the fast SDHC/SDXC card(s) ready to go when it does.

This is one case where I'm really surprised they didn't go with CompactFlash or XQD memory.

Well, XQD is proprietary for Sony and still very new, so you'd be hard pressed to offload without having the camera do it.

CompactFlash requires the camera to be bigger, so it's not longer "Pocket"-sized. On top of that, CF isn't necessarily going to be fast enough depending on how long you've had your cards.

Re: One Pocket Cinema Camera Arrived at Texas Media Systems

All camera makers have, over the years., sent out early units without all of the functions being turned on. RED comes to mind, however all have done it.

This camera really is about the S16 frame size. so why would you hope for a EF mount body when all of that very nice S16 cine glass has been setting on the shelf waiting for someone to use it again.

I do wish they had dropped the Pocket branding. Its just a gimmick to draw you in. I wish they had actually made the body somewhat bigger and at least given us a bigger HDMI port.

I do like the fact it is a basic Nikon Battery, and I personally like that the screen is not a touch screen.

Whoever comes out with what will be the "Jack Pack " unit that snaps on the side and gives you better I/O's will actually make more money than anyone else probably.

You can always just buy 2 cameras Gary. ;-)

I would rather have the Sony XQD card and pay another 10 cents for the license fees from Sony.

Despite that Nikon's D4 uses XQD. You can also go to B&H and buy a XQD reader for about $40 USD. Not what I would call prohibitive.

We will just have to agree to disagree how big a difference CompactFlash would make to the cameras size.

But unless your SDHC/SDXC cards are super new, it's practically a given you are going to be buying new SDHC/SDXC cards, so how is that different? But unlike SDHC/SDXC cards, CompactFlash cards which are more than fast enough have been available for quite sometime, even if it isn't all of them.
