La Haine
Although I have seen this visually stunning masterpiece before, I bought the 3 disc ultimate edition. It's still a very apt movie especially for today. I think it will always be universal. Especially in France where the non-french are treated abhorrently. It's interesting that we think of france being a very liberal, multi-cultural place but when you tear away the veil hiding the rhetoric you the ugliness. For me personally this movie means very much to me because of my background, but for those who haven't seen, watch it. Makes American History X look like pulp.

Haven't seen it yet, but in Belgium there's a new 2 disc special edition out, for about 10 euros. I think I'll buy it, because I've heard many people speak very high of it.

Bought it yesterday, watched it today.
Nice movie, realistic, and VERY WELL ACTED. Damn, Vincent Cassel is wonderful in the movie, and the characters are very well written too - seems much improvisation. Some very nice shots too and a good ending. Glad I bought it, now I'm gonna watch the extras. |
