Both in the filmmaking and the shipbuilding.
It seems the liner is put together somewhat in the fashion of Lego, blocks. Probably they call them modules, but it doesn't seem to make a very solid ship. They have probably been making them like this for fifty years or more and there doesn't seem to be stories everywhere of naval lego breaking up on the open ocean, so I suppose it must work as a construction method. The must be good welders those Japanese shipbuilders.
