Nope. Neither Dangerous Minds, nor Blackboard Jungle.

I'm sure I've seen that movie - the quote sounds really familiar! Was the character a man or a woman?

A valiant guess..... but an incorrect one.
Keep 'em coming. I'll add more lines or a hint in a few hours if not guessed by then. -Jon

The substitute

No, not the substitute. Time for a hint. The character who speaks the line I quoted earlier (it is his first line in the film) is certainly one of the focal characters in the movie, but not necessarily the main character. So I can head a few other guesses off at the pass before they even get posted. "Stand and Deliver" ? No "Lean on Me"? No "Freedom Writers" ? No OH, I KNOW....IS IT "DEAD POET'S SOCIETY" ? WOW !!!!!! ...... NO ! Uggggh. Okay,... um ... "The Emperor's Club" ... "Mr. Holland's Opus" .... that "Summer School" movie with Mark Harmon?.. No, No, and No. AHHHHH. Freakin' "Harry Potter and the somethin somethin"?????!!!! No, dude. Chill out. breathe. The film includes an ensemble cast, but the quoted character is a focal character, the quoted scene is in a classroom, and there are a few classroom scenes in the movie. And...no...I'm not using something as obscure as the classroom scene early in the "Eddie and the Cruisers" film in which Tom Berenger quotes Wordsworth, nor the intermittent classroom scenes from the Indy Jones films. The classroom scene from which I quoted is also an important and almost pivotal scene from early in the movie that thus far has not yet been guessed, and for which I may offer additional quotes tomorrow. -Jon

All right then. Since you took my other obvious guesses...(but forgot The Principal w/ J. Belushi) Maybe you should just be nice and Pay it forward so Hunt can go to AA and Spacey can get his Handicap parking pass? (if its not Pay it Forward........)
