Happy Gilmore it is...one of those really dumb movie that I love and seems to get funnier and funnier every time I watch it...for some reason, his other movies don't strike me that way, but Happy Gilmore has just enough 'what they he**' genuine stupidity as to make it quite endearing (ie: the one-eyed alligator, or the fact that Chubb's hand was grossly over-long - or the fact that someone's imagination would come up with a concept such as "I want Bob Barker to play himself, and I want him to get into a fist fight with the main character....and I want Bob Barker to kick Adam Sandler's a**...) - funny stuff. All you Nick... I knew that hint would push someone over the edge.
That quote always stuck out to me. It is delivered by Janet Leigh (Rosie) when they meet on the train. The thing is, that line, along with her correcting his response to something, strongly suggests that she is a Chinese agent - and maybe not even a woman. But in the whole rest of the movie that doesn't really go anywhere. Or maybe that is just in Marco's twisted imagination? Maybe it was just subtle. Definitely one of my old-time favorites. |
