Latcho Drom

Howdy from Texas,

Has *anybody* else seen this film, Latcho Drom, shown on a fairly regular basis on satellite on World Link TV. It's a lot like Godfrey Reggio's Powaqqatsi in many ways, and first and foremost a lyrical tone poem.

Shot in Super 35, no professional actors, a few complex camera moves with dolly and crane. It's basically a series of musical set pieces about the Rom people, travelling Gypsies, from India through the Middle East into Europe. Amazing music, amazing visuals, really hit me hard in a way I haven't felt since the first time I saw Reggio's Koyaanisqatsi.
