Favorite Foreshadowing?
What's your favorite foreshadowing? I have to admit mine is in Juraissic park. The water puddle trembling from the weight of a T-rex coming. How can you beat that?

Perhaps the best director for it is Shyamalan, at least modern, as with the above post, though not limited to The Sixth Sense.

Foreshadowing is usually achieved to the best effect with music in my opinion. I know what you mean about the ripples in the puddle though.
My favourite is the soundtrack and audio effects used in The Exorcist. Now that worked! |

Layer Cake had great foreshadowing.
Nightwatch it seemed they were having a lot of fun with theirs with the whole video game bit. Oh, and I loved Scream's use of it. Randy told you everything through the whole movie, but you never listened to him cause he was just some movie geek. This is a really tough topic to come up with, cause great foreshadowing doesn't stand out. It's subtle and hidden. You have to think backwards. |
