I am Iron Man!
Been looking forward to this trailer for a long time now as well. It looks very promising.
I will say that the trailer could have been paced a bit better, but it certainly looks like there is a good story, and great effects in support of the story. Something to look forward to! |

Robert Downey Jr is really funny in the trailer.
[I really liked his last film, Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang]--though at times in the trailer, he kind of reminds of Al Pacino in "Carlito's Way" and "Heat" Never thought this film was ever going to happen...glad to see that they are true to the spirit of the comics[The original Iron Man suit]--but updated for modern times. |

Okay, that looks AWESOME!
IM was one of my top faves when I was a kid, but I have to temper my enthusiasm with the fact that decent superhero flicks have been very 'hit or miss'. Some have been incredible thrill rides with an imprint for the ages, and several others have only been an embarrassment for filmmaking in specific, and humanity in general. I will definately be looking forward to the release of Iron Man though. Downey looks like he was having fun with this character. -Jon

Unfortunately, it met expectations.....on two fronts. First, with the very first teaser trailer they released to generate interest and enthusiasm, WAY before more polished trailers started coming out, they showed a few clips of the composited fire effects on the Rider, and they were embarrassingly low-grade. Understandably things were somewhat improved with a number of shots before the final print, but still, their decision to release something like that before it was ripe was very foretelling. On the second front, I can at least (or at most) state that Sam Elliot was undoubtedly dependable in his consistent ability to portray Sam Elliot. (side note: The only modern-day actor with equally commendable skill is Kevin Costner, with his uncanny ability to portray Kevin Costner, consistent from performance to performance- but that is irrelevant for this post.) I digress. Many apologies. By contrast, I believe that Robert Downey Jr., despite personal issues and a few odd side turns in his career, is certainly one of the most talented and entertaining actors of our time. I am very much looking forward to see his interpretation of Tony Stark. -Jon
