At last - cheap HD-monitoring solution!
Media Composer 5.0 was announced today and it will now support the Matrox MXO2 Mini for HD-monitoring!
Anybody know anything about tha Matrox box? Good enough for colour grading? I was thinking of getting one, uppgrading to 5.0 and buying a JVC 24" pro monitor. /ola |

You use a PCI-card on a stationary computer or an Express Card on a laptop. This card hooks up to the box with a cable.

I have one and don't like it at all. However, I used it with Premiere CS4.
In order to see video on it, you must use Matrox's presets. At least with Premiere, the Mini introduces many quirks/problems, especially when using 2 computer monitors (+ an LCD & Mini). I am seriously considering switching to MC 5 but I will be getting an Aja Kona - will/are the Aja cards supported with MC4 or 5? |

I don't think so, at least for the time being.
I really don't have a real need for MXO mini as I work with dual monitors always. And even on an external monitor you can have a better CC control, I used to work like this. But for sure it's a good addition for cheap monitoring solution. |
