handling proxy files from xdcam HD 422

hello,

I shot a docu (first) on HD (HD 422 XDCAM) and I am wondering if it is possible to edit with the proxy files and then batch it to full HD before broadcast. I want to edit on a mediacomposer set.

What are the drawbacks? part from not being able to see the quality of the material.. What can you do and what not.

I'm told the proxy files do not carry enough audio quality to use as your final edit...but you can fast import them, and then re-dig everything at full HD later.
