Looking for the Next Great Book
I found "Editing with Avid Xpress Pro and Avid Xpress DV" to be invaluable for learning the Avid interface and how editing functions work.
The back cover suggests the next book in the series: "Aivd Xpress Pro Effects and Color Correction," but it seems long out of print and is unavailable, AFAICT. I've been making my way through "The Avid Handbook" by Steve Bayes, but I'm looking for a step-by-step guide for features like effects and color correction. So does anyone have book recommendations to help take my Avid understanding to the next level? Thanks SO MUCH! Last edited by Peter Moretti; July 3rd, 2008 at 10:30 PM. |

Hi Peter - I don't know if ALEX is any good or not but you can try it out for free for three months:)
http://learn.avid.com/alex/lms It's Avid's own online course so you would hope it would be pretty good. One problem with books is software is such a moving target, whereas online courses tend to be updated to reflect changes more frequently. |
