Project won't open.
Hi,
I have posted this question at Avid comunity center, but awating answers I will ask the question here also. The problem started yesterday after importing the last shot footage. And when I removed the XL-2 from the firewire, while Avid was still running (won’t do this again) the computer monitor went black and out of range (stated on the monitor). So i restarted the computer by pressing the chassi button and when loading Avid Xpress Pro HD 5.2.4 these messages come: Exception: STRM_EOF Exception: 'FILE_OTHER' An error occurred validating the media directory: J:\OMFI MediaFiles. And when trying to load the project this shows: Exception: DOMAIN_COPYOUT_FAILED End of file reached on 'project name.avp' So I deleted the pwr and mdb files, but when starting Avid again the exact same messages comes up and I don't know if there is a corrupt file or so. But there seems like something gone bad. Any one got an idea for what to do, because I'm stuck. System: Core Duo 3.5GHz :: 4Gig Ram :: Quadro FX1500, driver 91.36 :: 4x Sammsung 1.2TB Raid 5 :: RocketRAID 2300 :: Evga motherboard and Fierewire :: Win XP sp2 :: Avid Xpress Pro HD v5.2.4 Best, David |

Some things to try:
Temporarily trash the MCState file from C:\Program Files\Avid\Avid Xpress Pro\Settings folder. See if that does it. If not, temporarily trash your user settings (after backing them up). If not, have you tried opening one of the archived versions of the project from the Attic folder? Great info on user settings here: http://tiny.cc/0gtJN |

I have never open archived versions from the Attic folder before, when I try to import it dosn't work. Do you know how you step by step open a archived version? I tried the other steps with no improvment. Thank you, David |

Hi David,
There's a detailed explanation in the help menu (search for "Attic"), but basically copy the bins you want to retrieve to a new location, then open them from within a project. I suppose you'd have to make a new project first since yours won't open. Before going to the attic, try making a new project and copying just the bins (.avb files) to the new project's folder. See these threads if that doesn't work: http://community.avid.com/forums/p/309/928.aspx#928 http://community.avid.com/forums/p/2...81.aspx#144481 |
