Avid Liquid Media Management problem
I am making a demo reel and have a Liquid Media Management problem. With 4-300 GB hard drives in my system and 2TB back ups I can only access some of my projects at one time. I know a 4TB Raid would solve the problem but that is not coming for a few months. With Media Management you can only have 256 characters active at one time. So for me to use say 20 projects to collect clips from I have a problem. If it is not active in Media Management (MM) the Demo Reel project will only find what is active in MM. I have been trying to pick the clips in sequence with effects and audio then copy and paste in the new project. As I said it works great but then I run out of MM room.
So one option is to Fuse the clips and then send the fused mark in mark out section but it does not send the audio which is needed. Also it sends the whole time line when I only set the mark in and mark out at 30 seconds out of 1 hr project. I can not get an answer from Avid and have been trying for a week. I have the unlimited service contract and no one seems to be answering the phone so looking for help from the Liquid experts in DVinfo.net. This is a problem I need to solve not only for my demo reel but as my storage grows (about 200GB a month currently) I will always need clips from other projects with out keeping those projects active. |

I have solved this problem. In case anyone with Liquid 7.2 runs into this you need to activact all projects. Remember the 256 characters is max in Media M.
