Synchronize videos from 2 camcorders

I am a newbie at AVCHD recording/editing and do not know what books or sources that I can study to make a short video of a piano recital. I have a Panasonic AG-HMC40 and Sony SR7 and would like to set up the camcorders at 2 different positions so that the final video will show the pianist at different angles. The audio will be from the HMC40. For editing I have Edius Neo 2.5 Booster. My questions: 1) How do I synchronize the video cuts from 2 camcorders with the sound track from the HMC40, 2) Is it possible with my equipment? and 3) What book for beginners to learn editing? Many thanks in advance. Hai

Re: Synchronize videos from 2 camcorders

I have two Sony cams, The SR11 and an FX7, and have been able to sync both using Pinnacle 12. When you have more than one video track in your editing program, it is not hard to use more than one cam. Same goes with the sound. I simply matched the audio waves from the two tracks from both cams. If you have only one audio track, you then have to watch carefully what the player is doing on the video and try to match the sound. I had to do this with a jazz performance set to an artist painting a picture at the same time. Had one cam on the jazz musician and the other on the artist. Was not too difficult, but not the best way of doing things. Came out OK though.

Re: Synchronize videos from 2 camcorders

After doing some reading on the internet, I think what I try to do is SPLIT-EDIT. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Start both cameras recording and fire a flash at them, or make a loud clap, simple.
