AVCHD frame size question at DVinfo.net

I have a question regarding AVCHD frame size with the Canon HG10. I'm recording at the highest setting 1920x1080 and using FCE 4.0.1 to edit. My setup for ingestion on FCE is:

Format: HD
Rate: 29.97 fps
Use: AVCHD - Apple Intermediate Codec 1920x1080i60

After imported into FCE, I check the item properties of a clip and it show a frame size of only 1440x1080. I can't remember where I've read it, but is this normal of AVCHD to only be at 1440x1080? It's driving me nuts, because I would like to achieve the full 1920x1080. Can any of you pros give me some input on this? I've tried the Apple forums, but no luck.

Read that. If you want Full HD, return it and get a newer model.

Thanks Jack. This was driving me nuts on my FCE settings. This entire time I thought I was editing 1920x1080 material. Dissappointed now, but thanks for digging up this thread.
