Atomos repairs in the UK?
Hi,
Does anyone know of a repair company based in the UK that can do work on a Shogun Flame? I spoke with Atomos directly who wanted me to ship the unit to a facility in Germany, which is a real pain because I use it so frequently. I would be happy to send it to either an authorised or unofficial facility. Atomos have not responded to my request for details of any UK repair facilities. My problem is the audio breakout cable socket on the Shogun has worked loose and I'm getting intermittent dropouts when recording through it. I can get by through recording audio from the camera to a separate device but that isn't a satsifactory solution. I believe the nut on the interior has worked away from the thread on the socket and so I'm hopeful it's not a major repair. I would attempt it myself, given that it's out of warranty, but I can't see any obvious way to open the unit, unlike my old Samurai Blade (which had a similar issue with a BNC socket that I successfully repaired myself). Any thoughts? Your advice is welcomed :-) Ian . . . |

Re: Atomos repairs in the UK?
Looking at the product image on their website, the first place I would look for cosmetically hidden screws is under those protective rubber bits on the corners. Try to peel one away and see what is underneath.
