Samurai FW 4.0 firmware problem
Firmware update doesn't start.
Downloaded 4.0 firmware, unzipped it, copied unzipped file to a functional and freshly formatted SSD, put SSD into Samurai, powered it up and.....update doesn't start. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I can't figure out what. I'm strictly following the update procedure. Anyone else experiencing this? |

Re: Samurai FW 4.0 firmware problem
PROBLEM SOLVED
the unzipped file was named: ATOMSAM 4.FW it needed to be renamed as: ATOMSAM.FW The update then worked like charm |

Re: Samurai FW 4.0 firmware problem
Hi,
This happens frequently on a Mac. After downloading, the .zip will be automagically extracted. If a file with the same name already exists, the Mac will modify the name of the newly extracted file. I'd recommend deleting any ATOMSAM.FW (or ATOMNJA2.FW) files prior to downloading a new firmware to avoid the file renaming confusion. Kind regards, Ivan Radley Atomos. |
