"You can now select [Zoom] under [Screen Mode] when playing video files saved on the hard disk or storage media." That’s a great way to see which HD camcorder is more detailed. Just put the HDV or AVCHD files into the hard drive and zoom into the picture. Now if only Sony can add DIVX support. |

You don't get the concept of the "Zoom" function. It's for 4:3 files on 16:9 TVs.
For instance, you get a file encoded in 4:3, it's been letterboxed to 16:9, The "Zoom" function will crop off the letterboxes and fill the entire screen. But if it's not that, then it is officially a mystery... |

On DVD players there is an zoom function with many levels of zoom, so maybe it could be like that.
