Dell Mac?
This seams very farfetched considering that Apple would be loosing hardware sales because of this but Apple could charge a big premium on their OS if bought for a Dell Computer.
Back then, the thought of Apple using Intel processors, seemed crazy but it ended up being a good move for Apple. http://arstechnica.com/journals/appl...-uh-girlfriend I don’t necessarily consider this a good move at all but then again this will definitely get a lot more Mac OS users and give Microsoft some stiff competition. |

I can't imagine that we'll see anything like this in the near term. But in the long term I think it could happen. There would be a huge market for OS X, and Apple could just sit back and collect royalties while they focus more on the consumer/entertainment sector. There has to be a higher profit margin from software than there is with hardware.
Dell has been having a rough time recently, and several analysts have suggested that they need to be "more like Apple," a notion which seems ridiculous to me. There are even rumors of a Dell phone! http://www.fool.com/investing/value/...ound-rock.aspx |
