Shoot 2k, 3k and 4k on the Canon 550D/ T2i?

I was perusing Phillip Blooms site and ran across this supposed update. Says it is to be released 1/1/11. Is this even possible without causing spontaneous combustion?

I was just reading that as well. My first thought was that the sensor would literally melt. Though they seem to be claiming they've found the way. Course, 6 seconds at 4K doesn't allow for much. Though, there was no indication as to how large a card they were using to capture that footage. I don't know... I'm generally very cautious of hacks on these cameras. If they don't work, it's not like you can take it back to Canon and ask for another one...

Amazeballs!! I just watched the video on this through a tweet from Alex Lindsay. I did notice also the no mention of what size cards used for the 6 second limit.

I still need to put Magic Lantern on mine. I think I will do this now, well, after I clean up this house.

i think the 6 seconds has to do with camera write and buffer ability and not with space used.

ROTFLMAO - there is a link (below) on one of the last comments on phils blog that points to a youtube parody video which is CLASSIC. Seriously this is 100% BS, just look at how long and hard ML took and the limited number of tweaks it provides - yet somehow some unknown joker just comes out and says he has a hack to turn it into a mini EPIC? P-LEAAASE...

Id be happy with a ML hack to give us full HD monitoring out on the t2i - that would be sweat :-)

YouTube - T2i 16k Raw Firmware...video is motion tracked.

All "nonsense" threads belong in Area 51.

Honestly, shame on some of you for actually taking this joke for real...
