Have you not been reading the boards! :-)
Try a search for XL2 and many threads will appear. The quick answer is not today but maybe tomorrow. If you get what I mean.

What's an XL2?
You can get a perfectly good, brand new XL1S with a $500 rebate... that expires... on June 30th. |

Hopefully we'll have word on something new when the rebate expires, but no one knows for sure. They've been extending that rebate ad infinitum.

Yeah...I'm holding out for the $1000.00 rebate (said with tongue planted firmly in cheek). You have to believe that Canon is trying to protect their dealers a little bit by waiting for the inventory to clear the shelves. They know that the XL1s won't sell too well if they bring something 'new and improved' to the market.
These are strictly my opinions and don't represent any official knowledge other than common marketing strategy. regards, |

I heard from a friend whose uncle works with a guy at UPS who delivers packages to the daughter of the a guy who works at Canon that they didn't show the XL-2 at NAB.
Take my word for it, it was a reputable source. -Luis PS. If I print up "wait for NAB" bumper stickers, would you guys buy them? :) |

I'm hoping they'll have it at IBC this year. But I'm not sure the
show is important enough for that...
