CCD Conspiracy.
Our governments don't want us out at night sneaking around in the dark and shooting secrets for the evening news. So for some time now, our elected have been in cahoots with the cam makers to shrink and mega pixel the CCDs of our beloved tools. This way we are brought into the light. That's what I think.

I wonder if JVC's F1.2 Bright Lens makes up for this any? Does anyone know what the GR-DV900's CCD size/pixel count is? Maybe JVC hasn't been got to yet. :-))

Well, it's just that there aren't enough good CCDs to go around to equip the general public. Government officials simply buy the best ones at inflated prices, so the camcorder manufacturers have no incentive to sell them to us at a simple profit. I can understand the perspective of the government official : there are only so many Paris Hilton's running around.

Yes, that's the cam to beat, unless you needed widescreen. Back to square 1. :-))
If you used a 16:9 adaptor with it, and IR night mode switched on, I wonder if it'll actually work in the dork. What do you think? |
