New manual hope?
link removed
"Manual Control? I’ve been told that Canon lent 4 5D Mark II’s to a certain company with a firmware version not currently available. The firmware is geared towards video. No word on whether or not some manual controls have been added. I’ve been asked not to mention the industry or the project, so I won’t." |

Let's hope it's true! The Nikon D400 almost certainly has video mode and it almost certainly will have manual controls... There's no way Canon will embarrass itself like that. Manual controls would also further differentiate the 5D2 from the Rebel T1i in the area of video functionality.
If the rumor is true, I willing to guess that the 4 cams were lend to a wedding videography studio... |

Please, please be right! I hope Canon has firmware update and is just checking for bugs.

Some things are too strange for DV Info Net even if it's Area 51. I've yanked the link to that rumors blog; sites like that exist for one single purpose -- to get traffic. There's absolutely zero credence to any of the nonsense posted there. Some of you guys are getting your hopes up for nothing. It isn't real until it's real, and when you read something posted on the internet, you're setting yourselves up for a big disappointment.
Sorry, but this is "tough love" in action. It's your own business if you can't wean yourselves from rumor mill sites, but you have to understand how utterly senseless and counterproductive those kinds of sites are... unless you own one, of course. |
