Nikon "little RED" flash based Camcorder in 2009?
Just been to IBC. Bumbled in a person that I know with tight Nikon connections. He mentioned that Nikon has plans to do a flashbased videocamera in Red One-style with mount for Nikon lenses.
Price point <4.000 USD. The front end - optics and sensor will be Nikon, but the rest of the electronics will be designed by a well known japanese videomanufacturer. Announcement NAB 09 - delivery late 09. The idea is to erase Canons Pro video division. DISCLAIMER: I have no idea about the validity of this. The source is usually reliable, but he is a still photographer.

I hope so. I have to say this sounds more like someone hoping out loud rather than a rumor.
The D90 seems to be a hit. I was filming at the Paul Reed Smith guitars open house today and ran into two people with the new d90. One guy say said he bought just for the video feature. I think Nikon would be silly not to at least try a video camera after the buzz on the D90.
