Yes, it makes sense for those reasons and for post houses. I was hoping someone would come out with some kind of portable box, like the AJA IOHD, but with a hard drive in it, that would take the HD-SDI and be affordable (under 3 grand). I am probably asking too much.

I think that convergent design box is in the 5 or 6 grand range.

Has anyone tried the EX1 straight to the AJA box and that to a MacBook Pro?

Steve's pretty much been told the same thing I have, 3.5" screen, roughly 5k deck with sdi. Apparently it was never a secret they were making one but no one seemed to notice.
