the threat for outer space
It's here and now. Villagers are being transformed into zombies. Be very afraid. http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20070918...uhealthoffbeat

I'm prepared as well. I've wearing a tin-foil cap.

I'm waiting for the story 'Meteor Health Scare Over'
'Peruvian villagers report no lasting ill effects from the strange meteor.' One villager told a reporter 'There is nothing to worry about human. Uh, I mean, my fellow Earthling. Meteors are our friends. Go over to that one and take a good whiff.' |

Theodore, the scary thing is how nearly believable that video really is.

I don't see a Big Foot scenario here. The meter fell and then people puked and transformed into zombies. :-)

George Romero warned us....
This article has a picture of the crater and an update...
http://www.smh.com.au/news/world/sco...881593469.html On the upside, the coming Body-snatcher and/or Zombie invasion would finally end the HD format war.

They're probably okay now, now that they aren't human anymore.

I just happened to read a story that the whole thing might be mass hysteria. The only scientific hypothesis offered was that there apparently tends to be somewhat high amounts of arsenic in the soil in that area. A meteor impact might have stirred some of it up.
Also, apparently far fewer people actually reported symptoms. Actually, THAT sounds like a good horror/comedy/cautionary tale. Zombie plague spreads through the town, the hero finally realizes everyone's faking it to get out of work. Like the Shaun of the Dead concept - if the world was filled with brain dead zombies mindlessly consuming everything? You wouldn't know the difference. |
