Build in UV-filter in adapter?

Hi!

I have a pile of UV-filters that don't fit any of my SLR lenses. I was thinking about placing one of the UV-filters in the hole of the adapter which the camcorder looks through. Is it a bad idea? Any potential pros and cons? One advantage I see is that it will prevent dust from entering the adapter when it isn't connected. The best thing would of course be to get a UV-filter that will fit my SLR-lens, but the screw mount is damaged so that isn't an option.

I doubt there would be any kind of cons using UV-filter in the camcorder hole. Most people have one protecting the lens of the cam anyway.

What I really ment, is there a possiblity that the image is negatively effected by placing a UV-filter in the adapter?

In my opinion, UV-filters do magic.

i think, indie35 uses thislike design to keep focusing screen in dustfree room. As far UV-s are away from focusing surface, dust on their external surface is invisible.
