Spec PSA shot on Letus35 Flipped
Here's my latest project for one of my classes final project:
http://media.putfile.com/Junior-Olympic-Spec-PSA It's a spec PSA of "Achieving Your Dreams" There are things that I would like to change about it, but the instructor gave us guidelines and requirements to what we had to have visually in the project. The project was shot on the DVX100A with the Letus35 Flipped, edited and color-corrected in Vegas... Shot with Canon 50mm lens and Nikon 35-70mm zoom lens. Visual elements were done in After Effects. |

That looked fantastic!
What effects did you use on the quote text? It looked really nice. |

Yea, I'm curious too...and was that motion tracking in AE or added camera movement with a plugin? And a 4:15 mile? Damn...

I'm sure he used the tools built into Vegas, it's got everything and the kitchen sink.

All of the text effects were done in After Effects, the quote was done with a track matte, the texture inside of it was stock library footage... From there it was colorized with a Hue/Saturation filter and a Glow filter.
All of the tracking was also done in AE. AE has a great motion tracking system... And yes, the kid's best time in the mile is 4:28... He's expected to get under 4:15 this year and he's only a Junior in high school. Someone to watch out for in the future Olympic games. |

VERY nice!!! Two big, fat, juicy thumbs up :D
It was wonderfully shot, very nicely colorcorrected, and I liked the visual elements overall =) And of course, most importantly, it was very human and very inspiring. Some things will always be great, even if they're cliché ^^ It certainly gave me chills down my spine =) Regards, Andreas Rylander |

Sean, that was very professional. I was thinking that it was a nice balance between story and effects. A lot of times it seems folks go crazy with After Effects..you had a comfortable balance.
