Yes definately get a vice of some sort... especially nice are the ones that track in two axes like a milling platform -- with the right setup it couldn't be easier.

Hey Justin and Leo,
The thumb screw I got from an old broken tripod and I just used a drill press to drill through the aluminum. Although I started with a small drill bit and then went bigger. Held the block down with C clamps. |

Yeah, I done my fair share of aluminum drilling, never been able to pull that off. Going to have to try again though. I have a design of my own, but it was a workaround to what you did wagain.!
