Yeah I built that...rod support system

I made a rod support system to go along with my Letus35a and gosh darnit if I'm not just happy as all hell with it. I took plenty of pics of it, wearing full gear to stripped down. Have a looksie because if I can do it so can anybody. All it cost me was time...The metal was scrap from where I work. Bandsaw, drill press, and some dirt under my fingernails.

Thanks Steve,
On my site there is some footage under the "2005-11-13: 35mm adapter" news entry. I had a thread around here somewhere for it. I like the adapter so far I just need to tweak it a bit more in order to get rid of the edges of the GG.

That is saweet! Good to see some scrap metal going to good use....

That's some really nice handiwork. Not to mention the paintjob on the Letus...also very impressive. Keep up the awesome work!

Erik, I'm in the process of making the same sort of rig. I have 5/8" aluminum solid rod, and .049 stainless 5/8" tubing on order.

Assuming that what I see there is .049 stainless, what's your sense of its stiffness?

Thanks Ben.

Dennis, It's sturdy. Once everything is tightened and strapped down the thing doesn't jiggle or shake. I don't know the specifics about the rods I used other than they're half inch stainless. I don't see them bending anytime soon, either. Good luck with your support system, I'd like to see some pics when you finish.
