Vignetting Issue with Letus Ultimate
I'm shooting on an ex-3 w/ the letus ultimate and I'm having (for the first time) vignetting occurring from the sides when I do pans. So if I pan right I get a solid black bar that follows the pan on the right side of the frame (pan left and it is on the left side). I'm wondering if something needs to be tightened or what the deal is. Anyone have a clue as to what may be the culprit?

Adrian.
The most likely cause seems to me like you may have an optical image stabiliser (steadyshot) function in the camera selected "on". Select it "off" and I think you will find the frame does not creep in with pans. If there is no optical stabiliser in the EX3, another cause may be a bending compliance in the whole path from front of adaptor to the camera lens mount. Check the camera for an optical image stabiliser control to eliminate that possible cause, then get back to us here if this does not solve the problem. Also. Are you using the Letus with the camcorder's own Fujinon lens and an EX1 mount kit or the special Letus relay lens for the EX3? The EX1 setup fastened on front will be a less stable setup and may need strengthening. Last edited by Bob Hart; June 24th, 2010 at 07:25 AM. Reason: error |

Thanks Bob. It was an image stabilizer function that was turned on.
