DIY 35mm adapter for less than $20 (Canadian).
Someone made a 35mm adapter using spare parts for less than the price of a movie ticket and popcorn. Obviously not intended as an alternatve to the professional units, but you have to admire the sheer ingenuity. :-)

Where it all started.
Like the SI2K UHD camera system, and dare I say it, the RED, the low-budget groundglass imaging devices started as a sort of open-source project right here on dvinfo.net.
This community has some serious credentials. Chris Hurd and others who run and sponsor this site should righfully feel proud of their contribution to these achievements. This is not to say they might not have happened but the impetus to get them happening was generated here I think.
