Rail System Mount

Hey everyone, I'm preparing to start on my first DOF box. I have a GS150, and will be purchasing a Canon AE-1 for the lens soon.

I've been trying to draw out the plans for this, and am wondering how I should go about making the mount. I'm thinking of putting it all on a 1/2" board with slots on one end for bolts from the box to go through... this would allow the box to move. Near the back side, I was planning on mounting a cheap tripod head that the camcorder would go on for easy put up and take down. All of this I've seen done with rail systems that look really nice, but I can't seem to find any detailed pictures or instructions for.

I'm a poor college student, so a rail system probably would be out of my league, but I could be wrong... do any of you know of instructions for something like this? What have you guys done for your own mounting needs?

Thanks
