yes,yes,before pro, afterpro,have to ask them-secret, fair....
Rad, when i first came to the forum i tried to read as much as i could before asking questions (it saved on duplicate postings, thus making it easier for the next person to not have as much information to wade thru...). i believe the patent question has been answered several times, but a visit to the patent page will not yeild much info that the home builder can use... |

Home made adaptors can make a picture which looks better, but will have a defect of some kind.
Common defects. Bright even image spoiled by soft focus. (Cause = too small an area imaged off the groundglass - poor quality groundglass - poor relay optics.) Sharp image - spoiled by corner cropping, vignetting or hotspots. Fair to good sharpness image spoiled by interlace artifacts. (Cause = shaky or wobbly gg disk.) Brightness flickers. (Cause = inconsistent quality off groundglass finish around groundglass disk.) These defects can be fixed but the fix often will introduce another of the faults. (Example = attempt to improve sharpness off the disk image by using a larger frame introduces the hotspot.) P+S Technik appear to have arrived at the ideal balance between all the problems. |

I have and have watched a few times (at times frame by frame) both mini and Pro35 demo DVDs.
I have seen (without looking too hard (on some scenes) a hot spot in the image. On others is not that obvious, but is there in each and every shoot. (even in that clip posted on line a while ago shoot in S Africa or something with the Pro35) In bright outside exterior, you can see the corners darker (a bit but they are; a desert scene?) Better than most homemade, yes. Perfect? Nop. (that goes for both) It is kind of known by now, but: The farther you place the camcorder to GG (and zoom in) the less hot spot you will get. (try it home and see). the corollary is also true) hence the rotating image prisms (not only rotate the image but shorten the distance from GG to camcorder on the rods (as opposed to having a looong d..g in front of the lens). Light loss (from the GG), heavier and more expensive from the prisms (purchase, align, machine housing) but shorter. Pick you choice. Radek, why are you so concerned or interested in their patent? Is not worth much (as near as I can figure it out) Neither protection nor information. |

Thank you. So it is not worth time to read the patent I understand. No helpful information. It's too bad. Too bad even the Germans can't eleiminate hot spot.

It is helpful to read and make your own decision. The above was just a personal opinion.
>>>Too bad even the Germans can't eliminate hot spot<<< "Not even the Germans" sounds like "not even God himself" Damn "bad hot spot" ....;-)< |

Yes, but Radek remembers how well organized the Germans 'eliminated the hot spot' back in the '40s. (forgive my black humor)
Radek, have you seen the treads by Leo Mandy (search: Mandy Leo) on hot spots? |

Gosh, it's all starting to add up...
Yes, it's all making sense...
Ex-German brainiac scientists responsible for P+$ Technik have recently relocated to South America and taken up new, secret identities where they continue to pursue their unbridled passion... *cough* *cough* Agus *cough* *cough* |

And now he have resurfaced somewhere on american continent and make an improved adaptor. It costs less money. But can't reveal his past identity. So poeple don't think that his adaptor is Mercedes of adaptors. He gives hints on his site with his native language.
