Some new edited mini35 test footage
I'm preparing to shoot a short film "Music Box" towards the end of this month. Below is some of the test footage of the mini35/XL1s edited into a one minute piece for your viewing pleasure.

What settings on the XL did you use and what lens? Any ND filters?

It was shot with the Canon XL1s using frame mode with the sharpness in camera turned down 4 steps, color turned down 1 step and 0db gain.
The lenses used were 24mm f2.0 and 85mm f1.4 Nikon lenses set to around f4. The relay lens of the mini35 was set to about 6 to 7. For the wide shots I used a ND Grad to help expose the brighter sky against the tree line and field, it became obvious in one of the close up shots of the thistle as the top corner seems dark. It almost looks like vignetting, but it is not. I hope to have a little more exciting version posted soon as I shoot some more tests. These test shots were done without the subject and props in preperation for the shoot later this month. |

Sorry to re-post, I've just uploaded a WMV version since it is 15 times smaller (that's right only 4MB versus 60MB) without hardly a difference in quality from what I can tell.
