Manually setting Iris on Canon lens
Hello All,
I'm in the process of building a 35mm adaptor and I have a question. How does one change the Iris on the front SLR lens? I have a Canon 50mm prime, but the controls look to be electrical, not mechanical to control the iris. Do I have to attach the lens to my SLR body, set the iris, remove the lens, then attach it to the 35mm adaptor??? Not fun if this is the method everyone uses, I'm just wondering if there is an easier way... Thanks, Dave |

currently your options are the Birger mount and Red Rock Micro announced a product that isn't shipping yet.
Also a few hacks like here: Redrock Micro: create the cinema experience :: View topic - Canon EF (EOS) lens + M2 + HVX (aperture control !!) All options are expensive. If your interested in a cheaper solution then don't go with canon ef lenses. |

Thanks for your reply,
Yep, that looks like an expensive option for convenience. Since I've already assembled my adaptor, I'll just get a Nikon adaptor and switch to Nikon 50mm 1.8 lens. Sucks I didn't notice this earlier :( Could have saved some $$... |
